Lagos LG Poll: Auwal Tahir Maude (ATM) On The Verge Of Making History In Agege LG

-As Odds Favour Him To Win Saturday’s Election

As the countdown to the local government elections in Lagos holding this Saturday hots up, one of the major areas of attraction is Agege local government where a man of northern extraction is hugely challenging the status quo, as odds favour him to win the polls.

Auwal Tahir Maude (Adeniyi), who is widely called ATM has emerged the favoured candidate in Saturday’s election. He has the overwhelming support of the youths in the local government and 100% backing of the Hausa community, which arguably forms more than half of the population of Agege. Not only is ATM, who is running on the platform of the PDP loved by these people, he has also ran a superb campaign that beat any of his opponents’.

The Engineer, a University of Port Harcourt graduate has also sold his 4-point agenda to people across the council area. His 4 cardinal point include; Security, Basic Education, Employment and Infrastructure.

What makes ATM’s ambition interesting is that he is running against some big establishments in the ruling party, APC in the state. He is contesting in the local government where the Speaker of the State assembly come from. He is also not a Yoruba man. However, Maude doesn’t see all these as challenges that can stop him, and facts are seemingly proving him right. “What we are doing is a movement that has been embraced by the majority of Agege people. People are tired of the failures of the past and they are yearning for the real change. Our strength lies with the people, and they are ready to stand up against any form of intimidation or manipulation from anyone. They have vowed to vote, stand and watch their votes counted and monitor the results until we are announced winner on Saturday”, he told CityScoop in an interview yesterday.

Maude also expressed trust in the ability of LASIEC to conduct a credible election.

Rallies that have been organized for Maude during the campaign have been massive and he is set to storm Agege with his final Mega Rally on Thursday.
