CAF Confederation Cup: Enugu Rangers crash out after 3-0 defeat to Zesco
Enugu Rangers have been eliminated from this year’s CAF Confederation Cup, after they lost 3-0 to Zesco united in Ndola, Zambia on Saturday.
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions crashed out on a 5-2 aggregate.
John Chingandu scored the first goal for the hosts in the 25th and doubled their lead 13 minutes later.
Jesse Jackson extended Zesco’s lead in the second half, as the Zambians qualified for the group stage of the competition.
Rangers threw away a two-goal lead in the first leg to draw 2-2.
Nigeria’s only team left on the continent, Rivers United, will take on Rwanda’s Rayons Sport in their first leg play-off tie in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.
