Passer-by confused by giant sex toy suspended above McDonald's

A large purple dildo has appeared above a London McDonald's in a supposed statement against rising rent prices in the area.

The sex toy was spotted in the trendy area of Brixton on Monday.

"I found it this morning," 27-year-old local Niall Trusk told Mirror Online .

"It’s above McDonald's and Foxtons estate agents. I personally really like it – Brixton needs a hero."

The dildo is suspended about five storeys up, according to Niall, who said that he was out free-running when he saw it hanging from a drain pipe. Judging from the photograph, it looks as though it has been attached by a Velcro strap and some sort of computer cable.

Brixton resident Niall, who works as a filmmaker , thinks that the dildo could have been placed high above the trendy suburb's rooftops in opposition of gentrification – and the rising cost of accommodation in the capital.

"I climbed out of a window to take the picture," he said.

"I’m quite intimidated by the size of it, at least one end of it anyway.

"I think that it is a statement about gentrification, as it was above Foxtons.

"Foxtons is responsible for social cleansing, and the extortionate prices of flats in Brixton. This act of vandalism is obviously an attempt to decrease the value of properties in Brixton."

Niall told Mirror Online that if he were an estate agent, he'd be "really cross if someone went around putting strap-ons on top of flats willy-nilly".

He also said: "I think this could be the new ‘killer clown’ craze, the thought of that really scares me.

"I think there will be copycats."

It's too early to tell whether more dildos will appear in Brixton – or other parts of London popular with lifestyle bloggers and people who eat lots of cereal.

But we imagine there'll be others hoping to give estate agents a hard time.
